Water-powered grist mills, which ground grains, were once a common sight in Missouri. Although few still exist, some have been restored to preserve their beauty. This mill is at Shoal Creek, a reconstructed village north of Kansas City.

The skyline of Saint Louis has been linked to the 630-foot stainless steel Gateway Arch since the day it was completed, October 28, 1965. Built as a memorial to Westward Expansion, this view, looking towards the West, underscores the connection Saint Louis has with its Arch.
